Character Basics
Name: Charles Francis Xavier
Alias: Professor Xavier, Prof, and Wheels (Logan called him this in the movie)
Age: Late 30's or 40's
Sex: Male
Allegiance: His X-Men
Powers: Professor X is a mutant who possesses vast psionic powers, making him arguably the world's most powerful telepath. He can read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within a radius of approximately 250 miles. With extreme effort, he can greatly extend that radius. Professor X can also psionically manipulate the minds of others, for example to make himself seem invisible, and project illusions into them. He can also induce temporary mental and/or physical paralysis, loss of particular memories or even total amnesia. Within close range, Professor X can manipulate almost any number of minds for such simple feats.
However, he can only take full possession of another being's mind one at a time, and he can only do so if he is within that being's physical presence. Furthermore, Professor X can project powerful mental bolts of psionic energy enabling him to stun the mind of another being into unconsciousness. These bolts only apply force upon other minds; they do not inflict physical damage. Professor X can also sense the presence of other superhuman mutants within a small radius of himself by perceiving the distinct mental radiations emitted by such beings. In order to detect the presence of mutants beyond this radius, he must amplify his powers. He often does this by using first Cerebro and subsequently Cerebra, devices which are sensitive to that portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that contains mental frequen-cies.
Professor X can project his astral form, the sheath of his life essence, onto abstract dimensions congruent to our own known as astral planes. There, he can use his powers to create ectoplasmic objects.

History: Professor Charles Xavier is an extremely powerful telepath who is dedicated to the peaceful integration of mutants and humans. An stopping anyone who would attempt to wipe out either species. Xavier used to be friends with Magneto, who helped him to build the Cerebro mutant locator. Xavier met Magneto in Israel where they narrowly survived a car-bomb attack. They travelled to America where they eventually fell out over Magneto's desire to kill the commandant of the concentration camp he'd been imprisoned in as a child. It may be that the injury that crippled Xavier was caused when Magneto fought him in the prison holding the commandant.
Magneto has hinted that Xavier has knowledge of Stryker's connections to Wolverine's past, yet this seems to contradict Xavier's surprise and revulsion of Wolverine's enhancements. Years ago, he tried to help Stryker's son Jason, but could not cure his mutation as Stryker wished. After Wolverine was brought to the Mansion, Xavier tried to help Logan regain his memories. He later used his abilities to control Sabretooth and Toad and threaten Magneto, whose mind was shielded by his helmet. He was severely wounded by feedback from Cerebro. Caused by Mystique's tampering with the system and was unable to assist in destroying Magneto's mutation machine.
Following Magneto's capture, Xavier visited him often, playing chess in the plastic prison. However, he did not know that Stryker had visited Magneto as well and had gotten the secrets of the Mansion and Cerebro from him. Too late, Magneto confessed his part as they were both gassed and Charles was taken prisoner by Stryker. Stryker had Jason use his illusions to lure Xavier to a duplicate Cerebro at Alkali Lake, from which he was to locate every mutant on Earth and deliver a fatal telepathic pulse. Magneto arrived just in time to stop Jason, but then rearranged the circuitry to locate human minds, hoping to obliterate all of them instead. Luckily, Nightcrawler and Storm were able to stop Magneto and rescue Xavier.
Sample RP: Charles removed Cerebro's helmet from his head. An focusing his mind he sent out his thoughts to his X-Men it sounding as if he were speaking with a megaphone. ~To all senior X-Men prepair to leave and meet me on the jet. I have found Jean Grey's where abouts we leave in an hour.~ He mentally pushed his chair from Cerebro and left through the door. Not needing a uniform he wheeled himself to the jet to wait for the others.
