She walked the busy streets and inhaled all of the different scents. She has been keeping herself in check, distant even. She didn’t want to hurt people anymore, but sometimes, she couldn’t help.
She thingyed her head toward the right at the scent of blood. The bitter sweet aroma stirred memories for her. She turned on her heel and followed the scent. Blood meant fighting. Maybe she would be able to use her claws. Oh God, she hasn’t used them in a long while, and she needed to realese them. She followed the scent into an alley and watched as a group of boys beat a young girl. The sound of her claws extending echoed in the alley as she moved forward.
The scent of blood has blinded the self-control that she desperately tried to keep, and she lost her self in her fury. When she finally came to her senses, the little girl was gone. Dead, bloodies bodies covered the floor around her. She stared down at her bloody hands and claws. No.

Logan left the bar sniffing at the air something wasn't right. He walked to his motorcycle getting on to it, but as he was putting on his helmet he sniffed at the air again. "Blood?" That's what he was smelling, there was the scent of blood in the air, and it was close. He got off his bike and took another sniff figuring out the right direction and headed off.
He walked about three blocks zeroing in on the smell of blood. Finding the alley he blocked out the strong smell of blood and caught the lingering scent of the girl that had been attacked. Following the scents he worked out the movements of what had happened in his mind. Getting the information he needed he used this to find the direction Laura had and taken. An before the police got there he headed off following Laura. The scent he now followed was Laura's mixed with blood.
He now moved about two more blocks from the soon to be crime scene. Before sniffing and moving to another alley where there was a barrel of rain water. Where he rightly figured that Laura had cleaned up. Moving passed the bloody water he sniffed once more and turned. As if he meant to leave, but he only leaned back on the alley wall and pulled out a cigar. He lit the cigar before speaking, "you can come out now girl, I know you killed them for a good reason."

After she had killed the thugs, she left the alley as fast as she could. As she walked she could faintly hear the sirens of the police cars, and she easily made her way into another dark alley where she could wash the blood of her hands.
She was busily washing her hands in the already dirty water when she heard footsteps nearing in on her. She raised her head and sniffed the air, to catch the scent of the person. It didn’t seem familiar. She hid in the shadows nevertheless.
She hid in the back of the alley; her dark clothing easily helped her blend in, in her dark surrounding. She watched the stranger survey the area. He seemed to leave, but she still remained in the shadows to watch him. He suddenly seemed to change his mind, lean against the drink wall, and pulled out a cigar.
"You can come out now girl, I know you killed them for a good reason."
A thin eyebrow rose at his word. No one has ever been able to detect her when she was in hiding. She hesitated for only a moment before she stepped out of the shadows to stand in front of him.

Logan took the cigar from his mouth, and turned his head to the side as not to blow smoke into the girl's face, he replaced the cigar into his mouth. He moved it to one side of his mouth and clinched it there as he looked the girl over. Oddly something about her was formilier, but he couldn't put his finger on this so skipped it. Moving a pair of old trash cans to give them both a place to sit for a moment. He upset a cat that had also been hiding having it give him a rather deep scratch. As he quickly pulled his hand away with a quick curse.
It was easy to see it was already healing, but he ignored the hand. Continued setting the can's and took a seat looking to the other for the girl to sit. "So how long you been out here on the streets?"

She watched his dark eyes as he looked her over. Her hunter green eyes were just as emotionless as ever. Her gaze drifted to his hand and watched the cut heal. The skin seemed the knit its self back together again. The only other person that could heal like that, beside herself, was Deathstrike, once known as Yuriko Oyama.
She remained standing while he sat down on the trash cans. She took this time to study him. She’s seen him before, she realized. Not in person, but by photograph. This was the Wolverine.
“For about two years.” She answered his question. She wasn’t about to give away that she knew him. At least, she thought it was him.

As Logan again looked to Laura he remembered the wounds on those she had killed. The cuts had looked way to much like those he himself would of made if using only two of his claws. He wasn't completely sure if he was right about this, but he decided to chance it. "Were you experimented on too?"

His question left no doubt on her mind that this was the Wolverine. She nodded her head. “Just like you.” She replied, solemnly. With her right hand, she created a fist and flexed her arm muscles. Two claws shot out from her knuckles with a snik. She stared at her claws, which caught the light of the sun and shined brightly.

"Yeah." He looked down at the claws and frowned. "Sorry darlin' guess your life is my fault. So what should I call you daughter or sister? I'm guessing the jerks that made you called ya X something they never did have much imagination."

She gazed between the inch space of her claws at Logan. The claws slid slowly under her skin, and she took pleasure as to short pain as her skin healed itself. "I'm neither, Wolverine." She told him, because she wasn't. "I'm a clone." She paused for only a moment. "X-23." She gave him the name that she went by.

"Saying to someone hey this is my sister..." he thought for a bit looking at her. "...Laura sounds better then hey this is my clone X-23 don't you think?" He stood and started to walk out of the alley, but stopped just at the opening and turned back at her. "So lets go get your stuff the others won't believe this."

Her eyes clouded over with self hatred and guilt at the name he called her. The name had resurfaced a memory she had tried so hard to forget.
Sarah Kinney, her Mother, was wearing the scent that caused her to lose control. She couldn't help it. She went into berserk rage. She killed her own mother and nothing could have stopped, except for a simple word that Doctor Kinney had whispered. Laura She had whispered, and she had stepped to look down at the bleeding woman in the snow. Your name is Laurie.... Not X-23.... X-23 fell to her knees beside her, and begged, prayed, that she wouldn't die. I love y-.... and then she died. She curled up and simply cried. Only later did she notice the journals her mother had. She took them, and left.
She stared at Logan. Her gaze was hopeful. "I am coming with you?" She asked after his last comment registered.

He looked back at her, remembering he had made it sound like an order, and wanted to explain himself. "Well you don't have to ki..." He had started to call her kid like did most children, but she had lived a rough life. He knew that made a person have to grow up fast. He wasn't sure if she liked the name he had said before cause of the look on her face. So he continued speaking using the name she was used too. "....X-23 but your the closest thing I'll ever have to family unless I have a kid. So I would like you to come live with me."
He could tell by the look on her face she wanted this it would beat the streets he guessed. "I stay most often in a school for mutants like us where you can be yourself with others like us." He knew this would be something new and different for her, but she could handle it she was his clone after all. "I won't kid you it's going to be hard at first you'll have trouble getting along with some of these students, but I'll be there too." He looked down at her hands or the claws if they were still out.
"One thing though no killing the students or teachers Emma might frown on that. I'm not saying you can't defend yourself. They have powers too, but you have more skills then just your claws you need to work on them too. If someone bothers you, you can defend yourself, but then come find me and we'll take care of it together as family. So if it sounds like something you want to try we can go get your stuff."

Family. The word echoed in her head as Logan spoke. He was offering her a chance to have a family, a home and perhaps friends. But he was offering himself to her as family. He would be there for her, no matter what, he said that he would - - more or less anyway. She wanted this more then anything. She wanted a family, and she didn’t care at what cost. Who cares if the place would be crowed with loud people?
She turned and walked to the back of the dead-end alley and retrieved her bag. She flung the black back-pack over her shoulder and turned toward Logan.
“Laura. My given name was Laura.” She told him, and then realized that this would be the first time she’s use that name. Her real name. “We’ll be a family, then?” She asked him. This was his chance to back out if he didn’t want it. If he didn’t mean it.

He looked away from Laura down the street. Sirens could still be heard faintly down the street. Where Laura had killed the gang members. Still looking away from her he spoke. "We might need to take the long way around. Or I could go...." He had been about to say he would go get his bike and come back to her, but she had no reason to trust that he wasn't trying to leave her.
"No on second thought we'll just walk right on through. They shouldn't be expecting that. I'll take us up wind of the scene so we don't have to smell the blood again. As far as they'll know I've just picked up my kid sister from the bas stop or something."

“They won’t know that I did it.” Laura told him. She turned her green eyes down the street toward the sound of the sirens. “The girl that was there, she was too beaten up to pay attention. I don’t think she’ll make it through the night.” She finished.
She turned her steady gaze back to Logan. “Let’s just go to the School you mentioned. Up wind, or down wind, or whatever way, it doesn’t matter one way or another.”
